Bayern ‘confident’ for Gunners clash

FC Bayern München have expressed confidence in their ability to perform under pressure ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Arsenal.

Carlo Ancelotti's side will face the Gunners in a much-anticipated round-of-16, first-leg encounter at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern have not tasted defeat in all competitions in their last 12 matches, whereas Arsene Wenger's men have lost two of their last five games.

In addition, the German champions showed great character in their recent Bundesliga victory over Ingolstadt, where they scored twice at the death to win it 2-0. They now lead the league by seven points.

As such, Ancelotti takes the view that his team are feeling good ahead of the outing against the north London giants.

"I'm happy with the performance," the Italian said of their weekend win. "We had to show great character. It's a good result and one which gives us a lot of confidence for Wednesday."
