Saturday’s Eredivisie wrap: Feyenoord stay on track

Feyenoord maintained their comfortable lead in the Eredivisie after they beat Groningen 2-0 in Saturday's league clash at Stadion Feijenoord. A brace from Jens Toornstra saw the Club on the Meuse stay eight points clear of Ajax Amsterdam.

In another clash on Saturday, Go Ahead Eagles increased the pressure on ADO Den Haag when they beat the struggling club 3-1. Sam Hendriks bagged a brace while Marcel Ritzmaier added a third. Abdenasser El Khayati fired a consolation for the Storks.

Meanwhile, 17th placed Roda JC had a great opportunity to move clear of the relegation places yet the club blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 against Heracles. Mitchell Paulissen and Tom Van Hyfte gave the Miners a healthy advantage. However, a late Samuel Armenteros brace levelled matters.

In Saturday's final match, Willem II struck late to secure all three points against Vitesse. Dico Koppers and Obbi Oulare hit the winning goals in the final 10 minutes to seal a 2-0 win for the Tricolores.
