Hull fail in Salibur appeal

Hull City have confirmed that the deal of forward Yannis Salibur has been called off despite an appeal from FIFA to push the deadline day deal through.

The Tigers struck a £9million fee with Ligue 1 side Guingamp for the 26-year-old but the deal failed to materialise after the paper work for the deal to go through was delayed until the deadline passed.

However, Marco Silva's side appealed to FIFA to sanction the transfer after the deadline but this has since been denied.

"We can confirm that our appeal to sanction the transfer of Yannis Salibur from French side Guingamp has been unsuccessful," read a statement on the club's official Twitter account.

Silva's side are currently in 18th place, a single point above the drop zone.
