Deportivo Alaves edged Celta Vigo 1-0 in their Copa Del Rey semi-final clash at the Estadio de Mendizorroza on Wednesday night to secure their place in the final against La Liga giants Barcelona.
Second-half substitute Edgar Mendez scored the only goal of the game on 82 minutes, with the first-leg tie having ended goalless.
Alaves started well with Toquero the most lively player in the opening exchanges with some good possession on the right flank.
He got his head to a fifth minute cross, but was unable to direct the ball on target from a tight angle at the near post.
Deyverson then shot wide from distance with Celta pegged back in their own half, as Sergio Alvarez was forced to react quickly to a whipped in ball from Toquero, with Deyverson ready to pounce.
At the other end, Fernando Pacheco produced an excellent save, low to his right, to keep out Iago Aspas, who had turned well before creating space for the shot.

Ibai Gomez bent a 20th minute free-kick just over the Celta crossbar after Deyverson had gone down on the edge of the area before a 27th-minute chipped effort from Aspas, that also flew just too high.
Zouhair Feddal headed a corner wide as Alaves continued to attack after Gomez's 29th-minute shot was deflected over the target.
Counter-attacks by both sides began to dominate this tie, although without any reward as a fast-paced but nervy first half came to an end.
An Alaves attacked was broken up by Hugo Mallo, at the start of the second period before Nemanja Radoja cut out a Victor Camarasa pass on the edge of his boxas the home side went in search of an opener.
Deyverson volleyed wide on the hour mark from a Gomez free-kick before Alvarez denied Ibai as he picked up an excellent Deyverson on the edge of the Celta area.
The Brazilian was guilty of firing high and wide when he had the chance to test the keeper, on 68 minutes, before Daniel Wass headed into the arms of Pacheco.
But with extra-time looming, Edgar Mendez, who had only been on the field for three minutes after replacing Toquero, picked up a brilliant flick-on by Camarasa, before calmly finding the back of the net, to leave Alvarez with no chance, and secure his side's place in the Copa Del Rey final.
