Espanyol midfielder Pablo Piatti was delighted that his winner helped the team claim three points against Malaga in La Liga on Saturday.
The 27-year-old produced a superb strike from 25 yards out to clinch a 1-0 win on the road, extending Espanyol's winning streak in the league to three games.
Despite the importance of his goal, Piatti played down his personal accomplishment on the day and rather focused on the team as a whole, emphasising consistent hard work.
"We found the goal in the first half and after that, we lived with that profitability, although the whole team were able to sacrifice themselves," he told the press after the game.
"My goal? Anything to help the team makes me very happy. This is the way forward and we have to keep working hard.
"Our next game? It's complicated. Real Sociedad are a great team to play, but we'll be playing in front of our fans."
