Man City’s new saviour Jesus worshipped on Twitter

Gabriel Jesus has made quite an impact since signing for Manchester City from Palmeiras for £27 million late last month.

The 19-year-old Brazilian popped up to save the points for City on Saturday after bagging both goals, the second an injury-time winner in their 2-1 home win against lowly Swansea.

The new boy now has three goals in three games for the Etihad club and even started in front of City legend Sergio Aguero on Saturday, proving that boss Pep Guardiola certainly has faith in the South American youngster.

Predictably, Gabriel’s surname has lead to a myriad of puns in newspaper headlines, but his impact on the pitch has also lead to a massive flood of tweets of Biblical proportions – many of them humourous.

But as usual, there was one dissenting voice!

Given the fickle nature of football fans, let’s hope Gabriel keeps up his present form or he could find himself crucified!
