Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Bayer 04 Leverkusen centre-back Omer Toprak.
The 27-year-old Turkish international will join the Bundesliga side at the end of the current season in a deal that will run until 30 June 2021, this after Dortmund agreed to meet his release clause, reportedly in the region of €12million.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told the club's official website: "Omer Toprak is a strong defender with international experience and great leadership qualities."
Toprak, who has made 181 Bundesliga appearances for SC Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen, has 25 international caps for Turkey.
Part of a statement from Dortmund read: "Toprak will remain fully focused on his task at Leverkusen in the coming months. Out of respect for their Bundesliga rival, BVB will make no further comment on Omer Toprak until the end of the current season."
