Struggling Pescara showed their last place position in Serie A meant little as they led for most of Wednesday's league clash against Fiorentina, before succumbing 2-1 in the end.
Gianluca Caprari gave the home side the lead in the 15th minute with a firm strike with his right foot after good work by Cristiano Biraghi. Cristian Tello then nearly grabbed an equaliser but he saw his shot saved in the 25th minute.
Borja Valero also went close after more good work Tello soon after. The second half was a quieter affair in terms of chances although Fiorentina did grab a leveller in the 68th minute. Tello would convert clinically after being set up by Maximiliano Olivera.
The visitors were now in full control with the likes of Carlos Sanchez, Khouma Babacar, Milan Badelj and Josip Ilicic all seeing solid efforts go narrowly wide. Just as Pescara may have thought they had survived the storm, Tello struck the winner in the fifth minute of injury time with a long range strike that rocketed into the bottom right corner.
