AC Milan are set to be without the services of midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura due to a thigh injury.
The Rossoneri not only lost against Udinese 2-1 at the weekend, but also saw Bonaventura and full-back Mattia De Sciglio pick up serious injuries.
Bonaventura will require surgery on his thigh, and his surgeon has confirmed that it is highly unlikely that the 27-year-old will be in action again before the end of the season.
“I think he will return to play next season,” Dr. Sakari Orava told Gazzetta dello Sport. “Unless something unexpected happens during the operation.
“I operated on a similar injury for the skier Peter Fill before the Vancouver Games. He returned four months later.
“In football, however, you probably can’t make such a quick comeback.”
