FC Bayern München were handed an injury blow after Franck Ribery sustained a thigh muscle strain which will see the in-form veteran winger ruled out for at least two weeks.
The 33-year-old has become increasingly injury prone in the twilight of his career and has struggled with a variety of niggles alongside fellow veteran Arjen Robben.
Bayern have confirmed that Ribery is out until sometime in the middle of February after picking up the injury at training earlier this week.
The club said: "Ribery had to withdraw from training on Tuesday morning after pulling a muscle in his right thigh. The injury is set to keep the 33-year-old winger out of action for FC Bayern for two weeks."
Meanwhile, there was better news on the injury front for Arturo Vidal. The Chile international is reportedly close to a return to full action. Robben is also expected back soon after completing full training this week.
