FC Bayern München captain Philipp Lahm will make his 500th appearance for the Bavarian giants during their Bundesliga clash with Schalke at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
The former Germany international has enjoyed an outstanding career for club and country, and will reach the milestone of 500 games against the Royal Blues.
As such, the German league's official website has paid tribute to Lahm's achievements.

A statement read: "An inspirational leader and captain, arguably one of the most intelligent players to grace the European game, he has won it all – Bundesliga, DFB Cup, Champions League, FIFA World Cup – and is now preparing to celebrate 500 games with his boyhood club.
"At 33, Lahm is now preparing to make his milestone 500th appearance for Bayern, the club he joined as an 11-year-old. Lahm may be approaching the twilight years of his sensational career – but his legacy will live on forever."
