Spanish giants Barcelona have signed 20-year-old Nigerian winger Ezekiel Bassey on a loan deal with the option of a two-year contract.
Also signed by the Primera Division giants is Uruguayan defender Santiago Bueno, with both players set to turn out for the club's reserve side.
"FC Barcelona and Enyimba International Football Club have reached an agreement for the loan of Ezekiel Joseph Bassey until the end of the season," the club stated.
"Bassey will form part of the B team and included in the deal is the option to sign him on a two-year deal in the summer. The Nigerian attacker will undergo a medical at the club later on Tuesday."
On the signing of the 18-year-old Bueno, another statement read: "Barcelona and CA Penarol have reached an agreement for the transfer of Santiago Bueno.
"The player will be a Barca player until June 30, 2019, with the option of three additional seasons.
"The Uruguayan defender is currently taking part in the South American Youth Championship with his country."
Barca's B-side are currently leading Spain's regionalised third division and are hoping for a return to the second tier of Spanish football.
Bassey was one amongst 23 players from the Nigeria league who spent time in Spain last year as part of a partnership with La Liga.
Enyimba's chairman Felix Anyansi Agwu was, meanwhile, delighted with the opportunity afforded to Bassey.
"This transfer of Ezekiel Bassey reinforces the fact that the LMC [League Management Company] are making significant progress in the development and advancement of the league.
"We are confident that this transfer will pave the way for further movement of Nigeria Professional Football League players to Spain and help them compete at the highest levels."
