Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi has revealed that he almost left the Ligue 1 champions to join Juventus.
The 29-year-old looked set for a switch to the Italian champions in the off-season, but in the end, no deal was agreed upon and he remained in the French capital.
"It is true, there was more than one contact with Juventus," he told BeIn Sports. "After the European Championships my agent and I had discussions with the club.
"I wanted to talk with PSG to understand what the situation was on the new Coach, I wanted clarity and after speaking with Unai Emery I understood many things.
"There were things to settle with PSG but now it's all sorted out.
"Honestly, at one point I hesitated and I really thought about leaving Paris, but now I am very happy at PSG, it's in the past and I am proud to still be here.
"I hope to wear the colours of Paris Saint-Germain for a long time."
Matuidi joined PSG from Saint-Etienne in 2011 and has since made 270 appearances, scoring 28 goals.
