Sakho joins Crystal Palace on loan

Crystal Palace have bolstered their ranks until the end of the season with the loan signing of Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho.

The 26-year-old centre-back fell out of favour at Anfield after breaking club rules in the summer, and was frozen out of the first team by manager Jurgen Klopp.

However, the Eagles' new boss Sam Allardyce has seized the opportunity to add the France international to his squad as they look to avoid relegation this season.

Palace picked up three points on Tuesday night thanks to a 2-0 win at Bournemouth, but they remain in the relegation zone.

Sakho should add real quality to the Palace squad, bringing his experience of winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de la Ligue and the Trophee des Champions with Paris Saint-Germain where he played 199 games.
