A fiery encounter between Inter Milan and Lazio at the San Siro in the Coppa Italia ended 2-1 in the Eagles favour, with both sides finishing the match with 10 men.
Geoffrey Kondogbia went agonisingly close to giving Inter the lead in the 16th minute, but saw his effort coming back off the post.
The miss was made even more painful four minutes later as Felipe Anderson headed home to put the visitors 1-0 up.
The tetchy encounter produced seven yellow cards and two reds, with Miranda making the hosts' job even more difficult when he was sent off 54 minutes into the match for a poorly-timed challenge in the box.
Lucas Biglia converted the resultant penalty with Lazio sitting in a very strong position with a two-goal and one-man advantage.
However, the match got interesting again when Stefan Radu was handed his marching orders in the 76th minute for a second bookable offence.
Back on a level playing field, Inter began to take hold of the match and pulled a goal back in through Marcelo Brozovic in the 84th minute, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal as Lazio moved to the semi-finals of the competition.
