Watford striker Odion Ighalo passed a medical on Tuesday to complete his move to Chinese club Changchun Yatai on a £20m, 4-year deal with the option of an additional year.
The forward, 27, had reservations about moving to the Chinese league according to sources, as the club are not one of the top sides in the emerging but free-spending league especially with interest from an unnamed Premier League club.
But Watford were tempted by the Chinese club's big offer and were also seemingly unwilling to sell to an unnamed Premier League rival which offered a one year loan deal with an offer of a permanent contract after.
Ighalo's £20m fee sets a Nigerian record, topping Ahmed Musa's £18m switch from CSKA Moscow to Leicester City.
Sources say the Nigeria striker will earn wages in excess of £140 000 a week.
