Kenneth Vermeer admits he is delighted to have returned to playing football again after a prolonged spell on the sidelines with Eredivisie side Feyenoord.
Vermeer completed 90 minutes at De Kuip with De Stadionclub's reserve side on Monday in a 2-0 win over SC Cumbuur and is now targeting a return to full fitness before thinking about a first-team return.
"It feels good to have played a match again," the Netherlands international keeper told the club's website. "I feel good and fit and didn't have any problems.
"I have been looking forward to getting back for a long time now. It really feels like the end of a long period of rehab.
"I have already been able to do a lot more in training these past few weeks, but you do it for that moment when you get back between the sticks," the former Ajax man added.
"At the moment what I'm most happy about is having been able to play a match."
