New Marseille signing Patrice Evra says he is excited to start his latest chapter of his illustrious football career.
The veteran France international left-back has enjoyed one of the most decorated footballing careers in Europe after 11 season at Manchester United and Juventus respectively.
At 35-years-old, Evra has picked up 14 major trophies, including five Premier League titles, two scudetto's and the UEFA Champions League in the 2007/08 season.
Now he returns to Ligue 1, 11 years on after leaving AS Monaco for the Red Devils, while admitting a return to his native country wasn't planned.
But the chance of representing Les Phocéens was enough to sway his decision.
"There are always surprises in life and returning to France was not in my plans," he said upon his unveiling.
"I love clubs with great history, and Marseille have won the Champions League. I'm here to restore the club's image.
"Marseille, it makes you dream with this fanbase. It's impressive, I saw it at the Euros."
