Hiljemark leaves struggling Palermo for Genoa

Relegation-threatened Palermo have announced the sale of Sweden international midfielder Oscar Hiljemark to domestic rivals Genoa.

The 24-year-old has been courted by manager Ivan Juric over the past few weeks, with his ball-playing ability being highlighted as key aspect to improve in the second half of the season – as they occupy 15th place.

Hiljemark joins Rossoblu in a loan switch until the end of the campaign, with the possibility of making the deal permanent at the end of the season.

"U.S Citta di Palermo officially announces the sale of Oscar Hiljemark to Genoa," read a statement on the club's website.

Hiljemark scored four goals and registered five assists in 55 games for Rosanero after signing from PSV, for €2million in 2015.
