Internazionale midfielder Joao Mario says he wants his national team captain to join him at the Serie A club.
Mario, who was an integral part of the Selecao's Euro 2016 success alongside captain Cristiano Ronaldo, joined the Italian giants after the tournament for a reported fee of €45 million.
He is now hopeful he will be able to convince this year's Balon d'Or winner to leave Real Madrid in the future – while describing him as a 'born leader.'
"Cristiano Ronaldo is obviously our talisman, our most important player," the former Sporting Lisbon man told Inter channel.
"I am trying to talk him into joining me at Inter. Let's just say it is difficult!
"He is not just a teammate – he is also a friend, a good person and a born leader. He is a great guy who cares about everyone."
