Christian Pulisic has been rewarded for his fine performances in Germany with a new contract at Borussia Dortmund until 30 June 2020.
The talented 18-year-old United States international joined the Bundesliga side in 2015 and after impressing in the youth ranks was promptly promoted to the first team.
He has gone on to make 31 appearances for Dortmund, scoring four goals.
A brief statement from BVB sporting director Michael Zorc read: "We are very happy to have secured the long-term commitment of another extraordinarily talented player.
"Christian already enjoys a high standing within the team and can become a cornerstone of our sporting future."
Pulisic, who won the German championship with the under-17s and under-19s in 2015 and 2016, has broken a number of records.
He is the youngest player ever to have scored two Bundesliga goals and is the youngest Borussia Dortmund player to have appeared in the UEFA Champions League.
He is also the USA's youngest full international and their youngest-ever goalscorer in a World Cup qualifier.
A delighted Pulisic added: "I still have a lot to learn.
"I feel Dortmund offers the best conditions to do that. I have the chance to play in front of over 80,000 fans. We have the best supporters in the world – it does not get any better than that!"
