New VfL Wolfsburg signing Paul-Georges Ntep believes the Bundesliga is a special league to play in and wants to emulate stars such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele.
The France international forward signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Wolfsburg earlier this week to become the latest player from France to swap Ligue 1 for Germany’s top flight.
The winger signed on the dotted line from Rennes and will no doubt have the chance to prove he can shine at the highest level for the Wolves.
He told Rennes’ official website: “You see the dimension the players who have gone there have taken. I’m thinking of Dembele, Aubameyang, Coman, Ribery – attacking players like me. It’s a great opportunity that has presented itself. Everything is set for me to take a step up.
“The German league, with its big matches, is magical. Wolfsburg has big ambitions, with quality infrastructure and squad. Even if their situation is a little difficult right now, they hope for better.”
Ntep’s new side are currently in 13th in the German top flight and have endured a tough season so far. The France international is expected to bolster a team who are just three points clear from the relegation zone.
