Bayer 04 Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller says a lot more will be expected from forward Javier Hernandez in the second half of the Bundesliga campaign.
The BayArena-based outfit have endured a tough Bundesliga campaign thus far, losing seven of their 16 matches.
The disappointing form of Roger Schmidt side has resulted in the former Manchester United striker coming under scrutiny for his poor showing in front of goal, with a return of seven goals in 21 games in all competitions.
Voller says that more is expected of the former Real Madrid man, but insists that he is not for sale.
“I expect a lot more from Chicharito,” Voller told Bild. “He knows himself that he has to raise his game. I think he is the first to be unhappy with his first half of the season.”
“We just need a good, functioning Chicharito.”
The Mexico international forward netted 26 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions in a memorable debut season for the Bayer.
