S. League hitman ‘King Ken’ Ilso off to Malaysia

Former Home United hitman Ken Ilso looks set to make the switch to Malaysia Super League after reports suggested he is on trial with Kedah.

The Danish hitman, nicknamed ‘King Ken’ after bagging 37 goals in 41 games over two seasons, popped up in Kedah earlier this week after turning down a contract extension with The Protectors.

He is apparently ready to sign with Kedah after having a medical.

The former Danish U-21 striker is being considered as a replacement for Brazilian Thiago Augusto and Kiwi striker Shane Smeltz.

“We are ready to make a decision on our main striker for the new season,” said Kedah coach Tan Cheng Hoe.
“Besides a striker, we are also scouting for an import to fill our Asian slot for the new season.”

Before his very successful spell with Home, Ilso had plied in his trade in Germany, Holland and China.
