Neymar to play in Chapecoense benefit match

Barcelona forward Neymar has reportedly agreed to play in a charity football match, which has been organised to raise money for the families affected by the Chapecoense plane crash.

The match, which is scheduled to take place at the Maracana on Wednesday, will also see former Estudiantes and Manchester United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron and World Cup winner Joan Capdevila take part.

The likes of Juan Pablo Sorin, Loco Abreu, Aldair, Zinho, Renato Gaúcho, Junior and Cláudio Adão have also confirmed their participation in the charity match.

According to the event organisers, over 25,000 tickets have already been sold.

The football community was sent into a state of mourning on 28 November, after the news broke of the Chapecoense plane crash that saw 71 lose their lives, including 19 players and the majority of the club's backroom staff.
