Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is said to have listed Borussia Dortmund star Ousmane Dembele above Manchester United’s Paul Pogba on his France Footballer of the Year vote.
The 19-year-old Dembele has excelled in his first season in Germany, having scored five goals and created 12 assists in 24 matches (all competitions).
According to Marca, top of Zidane's list for France's best footballer of 2016 were Real Madrid pair Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane, with Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid coming in next, followed by Dembele and then Pogba.
Having missed out to Manchester United in the signing of Pogba, it has been suggested that Zidane may be keen to try and lure Dembele to Madrid.
Dortmund paid French side Rennes 15 million euro for Dembele’s signature last summer.
