Former Tottenham and Liverpool sporting director Damien Comolli believes John Obi Mikel would be a good addition to Marseille's squad.
The Nigerian's current contract at Chelsea is due to expire in the next six months, with the club content to let him go for free.
Marseille are reportedly interested in the defensive midfielder's services and may make a move for him in January as they aim to strengthen their midfield.
“Of course he can do well at OM. He has size, power, aggressiveness, a very good technical quality, especially in the past. He has receded on the field and is now a real number six,” Comolli told Le Phoceen.
“I am convinced that if he arrives at OM, he can bring a lot with his quality of recovery.
“He will be very comfortable, even if he is not [Tiemoue] Bakayoko of Monaco or [Marco] Verratti.”
