Icardi: Inter have to maintain form

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has emphasised the importance of maintaining their form after the winter break.

The Nerazzurri ended their year with five consecutive wins at home, after beating Lazio 3-0 on Wednesday thanks to a brace from Icardi and a great goal from Ever Banega.

The result has put Stefano Pioli's charges within four points of the top four, and Icardi is determined to keep their run going in 2017.

"The important thing is that we don't return from the winter break and throw everything away, just as we did last year," Icardi told Sky Sport Italia. "I hope we have learned from those mistakes.

"We'll take it one game at a time, keep climbing the table and look forward."

"I'll be honest, I hadn't scored for a couple of games and was missing the feeling of a goal," he said. "If the team continues working well, then we'll certainly get good results."
