Thiago Alcantara believes creating some breathing space at the top of the Bundesliga table is worth more than three points to Bayern Munich.
Bayern cruised to a 3-0 victory over this season’s surprise package RB Leipzig on Wednesday, to move three points clear of the Bundesliga’s second placed side.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side will now definitely be top of the table at Christmas and after enduring a slump in form last month, Thiago – who netted the opener for Bayern – says the champions are now starting to find their form.

"It always means something when you win, but this is not just three points – we are getting a bit of distance with second place," he said.
"We want this first place and want to win the Bundesliga again – that is what we are looking for.
"We don't have any doubts about our team, we had a great attitude and got the win for all the people who came to see us.”
Ancelotti was left purring over Bayern’s first half display, which saw them go 2-0 up and Leipzig reduced to 10 men within the opening 30 minutes.
"We were very aggressive right from the start, we were in immediate control of the game and the early goal locked the game for us. We began at a higher intensity,” said the Italian.

"The players matched my expectations, particularly in the first 30 minutes – that was perfect. It was the best opening phase of a game this season and I am very happy.
"Victory gives us self-confidence. We had to improve and we improved."
