Liverpool's principal owner John W. Henry has rubbished a report that the club will be sold to a Chinese consortium before Christmas.
TalkSPORT journalist Ian Abrahams tweeted on Tuesday that the Merseyside outfit would soon have a new set of owners.
He wrote: "My sources are tellling me tonight, the @lfc takeover is expected to be completed before Christmas & possibly by the end of this week."
Henry has now taken to Twitter to dismiss Abrahams' suggestion that Liverpool's owners, the Fenway Sports Group (FSG), were wrapping up the sale of the club.
The American tweeted: "@BroadcastMoose @LFC Good that your sources will be debunked so soon. Usually it takes a long time!"
The latest talk of a takeover comes after FSG rejected an approach from a Chinese consortium in February. In August, FSG chairman Tom Werner told the Liverpool Echo that the club was "not for sale", a position that has not changed.
