Porto went into the encounter knowing they needed to claim all three points on the night to be assured of their progression to the last 16 of Europe's top-tier competition.
And they made a perfect start to the encounter as Valente Silva headed from Corona's inviting cross after just six minutes of play.
Leicester, who had already booked their place in the next phase of the Champions League prior to this fixture, were unable to recover from that early setback.
Having gone close to extending their advantage on more than occasion in the minutes that followed, Porto struck again in the 26th minute. After assisting the opening goal, Corona was on the receiving end of a sumptuous cross from Alex Telles as he swept the ball into the top-right corner from the centre of the penalty area.
The Foxes failed to muster a notable response after falling further behind and it was always the hosts who looked more likely to find the next breakthrough.
The Portuguese giants eventually notched their third just moments before half-time, effectively putting a positive result beyond the reach of Claudio Ranieri's side. Brahimi netted the all-important goal, converting from close range after some good work in the build-up by Maxi Pereira.

If their were any lingering doubts over the outcome of the clash, they were eventually put to bed in the 64th minute when Porto added a fourth. Silva was brought down in the area by Daniel Drinkwater and after dusting himself down, slotted home the resulting spot-kick.
Porto didn't ease of on the gas after stretching further in front, and netted their fifth of the match in the 77th minute, Jota slotting home from the centre of the danger area after latching onto a through-pass from the impressive Silva.
The result sees Leicester and Porto advance to the knockout phase of the Champions League, with the Foxes claiming 13 points from their six fixtures and the Portuguese outfit claiming the runners-up spot.
