Diego Simeone has decided to speak out following his son’s comments that the Atletico Madrid boss will manage Internazionale in the future.
Simeone, a former Inter midfielder, has forged a reputation as one of the finest young managers in Europe and has been linked with several of Europe's elite clubs after stamping his mark in the Spanish Primera Division with Atleti.
The 46-year-old has led his side to one La Liga title, a Copa del Rey, UEFA Europa League while finishing as runners-up in the Champions League twice.
Despite being linked with the likes of Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in recent months, his son Giovanni, who plays for Serie A side Genoa, claimed he expects to his father to return to Italy's top flight.
"It is normal that my son, my father, my sister, my wife would say that I will train Inter in the future, because they know someday I will lead Inter," he said in the press conference, ahead of their Champions League tie with Bayern Munich.
"I have nothing to say about my future. It is abundantly clear," he concluded, when asked about how long he will remain with his current employers.
