Udinese halted a four-match winless streak as they beat Bologna, while Chievo and Genoa could not be separated in their Serie A clash on Monday.
Luigi Delneri's Udinese gave themselves some breathing space from the bottom-three with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bologna at Stadio Friuli.
The Zebrette left it late to claim all three points, though, with Danilo bagging the winner in the third minute of stoppage time, but it was important in arresting a mini-slump which saw them pull 10 points clear of the relegation zone in 14th place.
It was a second straight defeat for the Rossoblu and their fourth in five games as they dropped to 16th position, having collected 16 points from their 15 league fixtures.

Meanwhile, Chievo and Genoa were both denied by the woodwork as they had to settle for a share of the spoils in a 0-0 draw at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.
The hosts were unfortunate not to take the lead on 33 minutes when Riccardo Meggiorini struck the crossbar with his effort from outside the area, before Valter Birsa squandered a golden chance three minutes later as he fired over from 12 yards out after Meggiorini had been brought down by Ezequiel Munoz to earn a penalty.
Fortune then smiled on them in the 71st minute when Nikola Ninkovic rifled a shot against the right post from range to be denied the opener for the visitors.
The Gialloblu finished the latest round of action in 13th spot, just one point shy of the Rossoblu in 11th place.
