Arsenal will need to produce a stellar performance at the Emirates Stadium if they are to overcome Southampton to secure a place in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has continued his trend of using fringe players in League Cup this season, and saw his side overcome Nottingham Forest and Reading to set up this midweek clash with Claude Puel's side.
The Saints, meanwhile, secured their place in the last-eight after defeating Crystal Palace and Sunderland respectively.
An extra incentive for Puel will be the opportunity to put one over his former boss, the pair having spent seven years together at Monaco where he formed part of the team before taking his first steps in coaching.
Puel told reporters: "It's important to beat him, but also a pleasure to meet Arsene again – it's a game between us, we both want to beat each other.
"It is important for us to win this game and to try and make things have a good production and a good result."
Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud have been ruled out with hamstring injuries, while Chuba Akpom is sidelined with a back problem.
But Lucas Perez could be feature at some point after returning from an ankle injury for training on Friday.
The visitors are expected to be without record-signing Sofiane Boufal as well as Steven Davis, who both sat out the 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday through illness.
But Josh Sims may keep his place in the team after impressing against the Toffees, where he provided an assist for Charlie Austin's winner.
