The agent of Nigeria wonderkid Victor Osimhen says his client is excited about officially joining VfL Wolfsburg, and has denied claims that he has suffered an injury.
Ariyo Igbayilola, the representative of the 17-year-old striker, says Osimhen is simply being rested after an intense period of football and is now waiting for his 18th birthday to officially join the Bundesliga side.
Die Wölfe fought off competition from Arsenal and Anderlecht to sign the record U17 World Cup goalscorer and is expected to be unveiled at the club in January 2017.
“No, there is nothing wrong with Victor whatsoever. He is fine and ready to go,” he told Africanfootball.
“He has played as many as four friendly matches for Wolfsburg and they in their wisdom have thought it wise to rest the boy.
“He will soon be back in Nigeria to work on his papers.”
Osimhen scored 10 goals in seven games in the 2015 U17 World Cup in Chile, as the Golden Eaglets romped to their fifth title.
