Sprinter Usain Bolt still wants to train with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, but said it would not happen any time soon.
“Puma boss decided that he could get me just some training time with Borussia Dortmund at the end of next season,” Bolt said in London. “He asked me if I wanted to do it. I was like: 'Why not.'"
Bolt and Dortmund share apparel sponsor Puma.
"It’s something that I’ve always wanted to try to see if I was any good at. So at the end of the season, next season, I’ll go out there and do a little training to see if it would be worthy,” he said, without clarifying whether the "season" was his athletics meetings in August and September next year, or the European soccer season, which would mean 2018.
The Olympic champion has often said he would like to play professional soccer, but has favored Premier League club Manchester United.
Bolt said at the world premiere of his movie 'I Am Bolt' in London that he had been approached by United manager Jose Mourinho.
"Hopefully he'll call me and see what's going on," Bolt said. "I'm really excited about that."
