Serie A leaders Juventus have been dealt a blow with the news that Leonardo Bonucci will be sidelined for up to two months due to a hamstring injury.
The 29-year-old centre-back was forced off in the 33rd minute of Juve's 3-1 defeat at Genoa on Sunday, where right-back Dani Alves also sustained a fractured leg.
Scans have revealed the extent of the problem, which is expected to keep Bonucci out of action for at least a month and a half, meaning he will not feature again this year.
A statement on the club's official website read: "An injury to the hamstring of his left thigh has been identified, leaving him with a predicted recovery time of around 45-60 days."
The Italy international has started 10 of the Bianconeri's 14 league games this season, with a further two appearances from the bench, and opened his account for the new campaign after netting in the 2-1 win over Napoli on October 29.
