Bayern Munich captain Phillip Lahm believes that former coach Pep Guardiola has already made his mark at Premier League outfit Manchester City, based on their style of play.
Guardiola hit the ground running with the Citizens, and out of the 19 games of which he has been at the helm – his side have registered 12 victories, four draws and three losses, in all competitions.
The draws and losses came after a sensational start to life in Manchester, but the club has since rediscovered their form – culminating in a victory over Barcelona in the Champions League.
Lahm, who spent three years under the tutelage of Guardiola says that the former Barcelona mentor has already successfully implemented his style of play with City.
"City have developed well in a short time," he told Bayern TV.
"From the games that I have watched, the trainer's (Guardiola's) trademark is clearly evident from their style of play.
"We know him from the last three years and you can already see he has stamped his mark," he continued.
Lahm suggested that the ultimate test of character for Guardiola's charges would be their progression in the Champions League.
City currently occupy second place in the latest Group C standings and victory against Borussia Monchengladbach will secure their passage to the knockout phase.
"We'll see how far City progress in the Champions League, but the quality of their team and coach is undeniable.
"You can never say this or that team must win the Champions League.
"Like in the Bundesliga, it's always hard work and you need a little bit of luck," he concluded.
