FC Bayern München defender Jerome Boateng believes teammate Robert Lewandowski is a more complete striker than rivals Borussia Dortmund’s star man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Germany international admits that it is difficult to choose between the two prolific hitmen, but says Lewandowski holds the edge.
“It is hard to say who is the better player of the two,” Boateng said ahead of Der Klassiker on Saturday.
“Robert is my teammate and I have faced Aubameyang a number of times when we played against Dortmund.
“Both are top strikers, but I would say that Lewandowski is a bit more complete.”
The Bavarians go into the derby match on top of the Bundesliga standings and six points ahead of BVB, but Boateng admitted Dortmund are their biggest threat to retaining the Bundesliga crown this season.
“Dortmund are our biggest rivals in the title race,” he added. “Dortmund have always been tough opponents. We want to go there and get something.
“It is one of the highlights of the season. Playing in Dortmund is always interesting. These are exactly the kind of games we need to see where we are up to.”
