Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski had a narrow escape after a flare exploded near him during Poland’s World Cup qualifying clash.
Lewandowski was waiting for a corner during Poland’s encounter in Romania, when a flare was thrown from the stands onto the pitch.
He signalled to the officials, but then the flare exploded and he fell to the floor clutching his face.
Medical staff treated Lewandowski for several minutes and he appeared dazed by the incident, before returning to action.

However, there was clearly no significant repercussions, with the Poland frontman netting twice in a 3-0 win, to maintain his record of scoring in every qualifying encounter.
