Syria cruise to victory over Singapore

Two second half goals for Syria secured a 2-0 win against Singapore in their international friendly game played at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium on Wednesday.

The game against the home side, Singapore head coach Sundram labelled as being similar opposition to AFF Suzuki Cup hosts Philippines – was said to be the perfect warm-up fixture ahead of the tournament.

In what's the final week of preparations before Singapore jet off to Manila, Philippines for their quest to do well at the AFF (ASEAN Football Federation) Suzuki Cup.

In a openly contested first-half – no side made use of their chances and scores were level at the break.

However, as the teams began to tire, The Qasioun Eagles struck twice in quick succession to see off the visitors.

Right-back Amro Jenyat opened the scoring in the 65th minute and five minutes later, 23-year-old midfield prospect Khaled Al Mobayed – doubled their lead.
