Preview: Borussia Mönchengladbach v Celtic

VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach will be eyeing a double against Celtic when they meet in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday at Borussia-Park.

In what was the best chance for the Scottish giants to earn a Group C win, they were undone by two Kolo Toure blunders, despite having control of possession at Celtic Park.

Lars Stindl and Andre Hahn scored in the second half as Gladbach emerged 2-0 winners for their first away European win in the modern Champions League era.

Andre Schubert's side are currently third in the group with three points after their victory in the reverse fixture a fortnight ago. They lost their opening two matches – 4-0 at Manchester City and 2-1 at home to Barcelona.

The Hoops have one point, courtesy of their thrilling 3-3 home draw against City. They suffered a heavy 7-0 loss against Barca at the Camp Nou.

Kolo Toure, Jozo Simunovic and Leigh Griffiths will miss the midweek clash, with the latter suffering illness this weekend. Left-back Kieran Tierney had already been ruled out through injury.

Midfielders Ibrahima Traore and Thorgan Hazard as well as defenders Andreas Christensen and Alvaro Dominguez also missed the 0-0 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend through injury – and are expected to sit out Tuesday.
