Feyenoord slipped up for the second match in succession after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Heerenveen at De Kuip in Sunday's Eredivisie action.
The top-flight leaders found themselves trailing after just five minutes when Reza Ghoochannejhad opened the scoring for De Superfriezen, but two goals before the break from Nicolai Jorgensen (26') and Rick Karsdorp (42') put Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side in the driving seat.
However, they were pegged back by Arber Zeneli's 60th-minute equaliser for the visitors, who denied De Stadionclub their 10th win of the season.
Elsewhere, PEC Zwolle inflicted a third successive defeat on Go Ahead Eagles as they extended their unbeaten run with a 3-1 win at the MAC³PARK Stadion.

Meanwhile, Utrecht were denied a third win on the spin as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw with NEC at Stadion Galgenwaard.
A 35th-minute own-goal from Joris Delle gave the visitors a slender lead at the interval, but Ferdi Kadioglu 17 minutes into the second to earn Peter Hyballa's side a share of the spoils.
In the late kick-off, Robert Muhren 87th-minute winner saw visiting AZ edge ADO Den Haag 1-0 at the Kyocera Stadion.
