PSV picked up three points away to Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie on Saturday, while Sparta Rotterdam were held by Heracles.
Gaston Pereiro scored both goals for PSV as they saw off Vitesse at the GelreDome, the attacker opening the scoring on 12 minutes before he made sure of the points in the third minute of stoppage time at the end of the match.
PSV moved onto 24 points into second place on the Eredivisie standings as Vitesse remained on 15 points, in seventh place.

Willem II moved onto 10 points in 13th spot with their 2-1 win over Groningen, who dropped a place into 16th, with nine points from their 11 matches played.
Thom Haye broke the deadlock on 66 minutes before Mimoun Mahi's 75th minute equaliser, but Bartholomew Ogbeche secured all three points for his side five minutes from time.
Heracles picked up a vital point in their 2-2 draw with Sparta Rotterdam.
Zakaria El Azzouzi opened the scoring for the away side a minute before the break before Brahim Darri's 68th minute equaliser.
Brandley Kuwas put Heracles in the lead, albeit briefly with 81 minutes played, but Loris Brogno netted just a minute later to secure the draw.
Heracles ended the evening in 15th place with nine points, with Sparta in eighth with 13 points.
And Ajax saw off Excelsior 1-0 with Hakim Ziyech on target in the 48th minute, to move onto 23 points in third place, while Excelsior remained down in 11th with 10 points.
