Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli feels it would be foolish to start talking about a title challenge at this early stage of the season.
The Rojiblancos are flying high in second place in the Primera Division standings, ahead of a clash with stragglers Sporting Gijon on Saturday afternoon, but Sampaoli insists his side must focus on staying consistent.
"We'd be getting ahead of ourselves if we thought of winning La Liga," Sampaoli told reporters. "There is a long way to go.
"There are three teams who stand out from the rest, so it will be difficult to stay consistent.
"[Last weekend's win] does not mean Sevilla is among the top three because we have a lot to improve on as a group."
Sevilla have picked up 20 points from their opening nine fixtures of the season, and will go top of the table if they manage to claim all three points against Gijon.
Real Madrid are just one point ahead of Sampaoli and Co. and face Deportivo Alaves at Estadio de Mendizorroza later in the day.
