Hull City’s Jake Livermore would like to see the Tigers build some momentum against Bristol City in the EFL Cup tonight to reignite their flagging season.
The Yorkshire club have suffered five defeats in their last six outings, including a 2-0 loss to struggling Stoke City over the weekend.
“We need to build some momentum – simple as that, if we can do that away at Bristol City this evening, then so be it,” said the midfielder.
“Everyone in the dressing room was disappointed after Saturday’s defeat and we are determined to get back to winning ways.
“We had a good start to the season and it has been disappointing to lose recent games but it has happened now and we have to put that behind us.
“We’re all sticking together. We all still want the same thing and there are no separations in the camp. It’s going to be a tough few weeks, but everyone is determined to turn results around.
“We’ve got a real fight on our hands now, and sometimes that’s when we’re at our best as a Club, when everyone writes us off.
“We know we need to be better, but there’s no crisis. We put our trust in the manager at the start of the season and that’s not changed.
“He trusted his players and that’s not changed either. It’s just a case of going back to the drawing board.
“We will go again tonight. We have to try to eradicate the mistakes and build on what we want to do.”
Hull last met Bristol City in a league match in April which the Tigers won 4-0.
