PSV Eindhoven manager Phillip Cocu is targeting a second consecutive win over Sparta Rotterdam on Tuesday.
Cocu’s side beat Sparta 1-0 at home in the Eredivisie on Saturday, and will clash with the same side away on Tuesday in the KNVB Beker.
The PSV boss believes the recent win over Sparta gives the players a boost in confidence as they now know exactly what to expect from the Rotterdam side.
“PSV are looking to build on the 1-0 win over Sparta ahead of another Sparta test,” he said in a press conference on Monday afternoon.
“We felt the pressure on Saturday, but fortunately we recorded a win, which has provided an important confidence boost for the players.
“We know what to expect.”
Cocu added: “The players who started on Saturday are match-fit. But four players are ruled out of Tuesday’s game with injury. Jeroen Zoet has picked up a minor injury and will miss tomorrow night’s clash with Sparta, but will be available for the trip to Arnhem on Saturday to face Vitesse.
“Siem de Jong suffers a calf injury and will have an MRI scan to assess the damage while Jürgen Locadia and Jorrit Hendrix are on the sidelines for a long spell.”
