Marquinhos is adamant that Paris Saint-Germain have no intention of selling him, whilst iterating his desire to remain with the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
The 22-year-old played a bit-part role for the Ligue 1 champions during the 2015/16 season, due to then-coach Laurent Blanc’s selection of Thiago Silva and David Luiz as his preferred central-defensive partnership.
However, following Luiz’s deadline-day move to Chelsea, in addition to Unai Emery being appointed as the man to lead the Parisian giants for the 2016/17 season – Marquinhos’ fortunes have changed for the better.
The former AS Roma defender is now a mainstay in the PSG line-up and has dismissed any talk of a possible move to the La Liga champions, as he is adamant that they won’t sell him.
“An offer from Barcelona? PSG have always had great faith in me towards the end of last season, I started to get more game time,” he told Canal Football Club.
“Would I say no to Barcelona? I have no need to tell them anything because PSG will not sell me.
“Could I join the Catalans later? For now, I want to make my life in Paris if everything continues like this. I am really good in Paris right now,” he concluded.
