Palace need to keep working – Cabaye

According to Crystal Palace playmaker Yohan Cabaye, the club are close to putting in a perfect performance and just need to keep working hard.

The Frenchman scored as Palace went down 3-1 to reigning champions Leicester City over the weekend, a result Cabaye feels was a little unfair on his team.

“In some stages of the game we played well but it was disappointing to concede the goal just before half time but I think overall the score is not a fair reflection on the way we played,” Cabaye said after the game.

“We did create chances to score goals but we lost the game in the end and that is the most important thing.

“We won three in a row and have now lost two but it`s hard to explain why that happens but we must learn from our mistakes.

“Looking back at the game I think we should have done better with their second goal but we are not far from having the perfect team performance, we need to keep working and it will come.”

Crystal Palace have failed to keep a clean sheet in 14 consecutive games but Cabaye believes it is only a matter of getting the first one and then more will follow.

“I think a clean sheet would start to give us more confidence for the future and obviously if you don`t concede at least you get a point so especially away from home we have to stay more solid and be hard to play against.”
