Locatelli stunner sees off Juve

AC Milan scraped a narrow 1-0 victory over Juventus courtesy of a wonderful strike from teenage star Manuel Locatelli at the San Siro on Saturday evening.

Despite the away side having plenty of the ball and a lot of half-chances, Vincenzo Montella's men held out for yet another win, with Allegri's side knocked off their stride in the hunt for their fifth successive Scudetto.

A memorable night in recent history for the under performing Rossoneri –  the Italian ginats moved within two points of Juventus who lead the standings.

Juventus needed to keep their winning form going in order to keep pulling clear of Roma in the table, but the goal from the 18-year old Locatelli has blown the title race wide open.

After a drab first-half the game exploded into life with Locatelli's second of the season just after the hour mark.

It started with Suso who found some space on the right byline, before setting a pass back to the edge of the area. Locatelli took the ball in his stride before lashing a finish onto the underneath of the bar, which nestled in the side netting on the bounce.

Juve rallied forward with their explosive front line lead by Gonzalo Higuain and joined by Mario Mandzukic later in the second-half but Montella's side remained defensively sound to the final whistle.

In the other game played earlier in the evening, Sampdoria ran out 2-1 winners over Genoa to move into 13th spot in the Serie A standings.

The Blucerchiati got off to the perfect start in the 12th minute when Luis Muriel gave them the lead but they were pegged pack shortly after midfielder Luca Rigoni scored 12 minutes later.

Two minutes into the second half, defender Armando Izzo put the ball into the back of his own net for La Samp to regain their lead and the scoreline remained 2-1 until full-time.
